Vice News reporter Simon Ostrovsky was kidnapped in Slovyansk, Ukraine by pro-Russian separatists when trying to cross a checkpoint. In speaking with CBC News Canada, Simon said that the checkpoint guards had his photo on hand and believes they were looking for him. He explains how they beat him and blindfolded him while keeping him in a room with other captured Ukrainians. He was released April 24th after 4 days in captivity.
